چکیده

Single-crystal synchrotron x-ray diffraction studies of CeFeAsO reveal strong anisotropy in the chargecorrelation lengths along or perpendicular to the in-plane antiferromagnetic (AFM) wave vector at low temperatures, indicating an anisotropic two-dimensional magnetoelastic coupling. The high-resolution setup allows to distinctly monitor each of the twin domains by virtue of a finite misfit angle between them that follows the order parameter. In addition, we find that the in-plane correlations, above the orthorhombic (O)to-tetragonal (T) transition, are shorter than those in each of the domains in the AFM phase, indicating a distribution of the in-plane lattice constants. This strongly suggests that the phase above the structural O-to-T transition is virtually T with strong O-T fluctuations that are probably induced by spin fluctuations.

Magnetoelastic coupling and charge correlation lengths in a twin domain of Ba(Fe1â‹TMxCox)2As2 (x=0.047): A high-resolution x-ray diffraction study

The interplay between structure, magnetism, and superconductivity in single crystal Ba(Fe 1−x Co x) 2 As 2 (x = 0.047) has been studied using high-resolution x-ray diffraction by monitoring charge Bragg reflections in each twin domain separately. The emergence of the superconducting state is correlated with the suppression of the orthorhombic distortion around T C , exhibiting competition betwe...

اثر جانشانی کبالت بر خواص مغناطوالاستیکی ترکیب Cu13Fe6Nd

In this research the magnetoelastic properties of Nd6Fe13-xCoxCu (x = 0 and 1) intermetallic compoundes are investigated. Analysis of X-ray diffraction patterns indicates that a single phase is formed approximately for x = 0 and the x = 1 sample is multi-phase. The lattice parameters were decreased, the Néel temperature of main phase and the Curie temperature of impurity phase was increased...

Giant magnetoelastic coupling in a metallic helical metamagnet.

Using high resolution neutron diffraction and capacitance dilatometry we show that the thermal evolution of the helimagnetic state in CoMnSi is accompanied by a change in interatomic distances of up to 2%, the largest ever found in a metallic magnet. Our results and the picture of competing exchange and strongly anisotropic thermal expansion that we use to understand them sheds light on a new m...

Synthesis of anisotropic CdS nanostructures via a single-source route.

A cadmium tetrahydroisoquinoline dithiocarbamate (DTC) complex has been used as single-source precursor for the synthesis of highly faceted hexadecylamine (HDA) capped CdS nanoparticles. Hexagonal and close to cubic shaped particles with distinct lattice fringes are visible in the high resolution transmission electron microscopy images. Crystalline particles in the shape of a hexagon are clearl...

Diethylene Glycol-Mediated Synthesis of Nano-Sized Ceria (CeO2 )Catalyst

Nano-crystalline particles of CeO2 have been synthesized by a low temperature chemical precipitation method. The precursor materials used in this research were Ce(NO3)3.6H2O, NaOH and diethylene glycol as surfactant. X-ray powder diffraction results showed that face centered cubic CeO2 nanoparticles with crystalline size in nanometer scale were formed. Scanning electron microscopy measurement s...
